April...and Life on the Edge
Here we are...a little over a year later.
Almost half of us have received at least one of our shots...many are fully vaccinated.
Masking is done when we are in close proximity...in a closed space with others...or in a situation where we are unsure of exposure (...groceries and such...)
Through it all...we are starting to see small glimmers of normalcy.
People that are fully vaccinated can meet in small group sans protective gear.
Tomorrow is my 61st birthday...my guy and I (who are fully vaccinated) spent Wednesday and Thursday out at a hotel and got a sit-down steak dinner out for the first time in a year!
Strange to realize how excited you feel...finally doing something that feels a bit...NORMAL.
The multiple variants out there have caused a slight rise in overall cases, but most of these are in the un-vaccinated by choice, now.
I'm beginning to believe that Darwin fellow was right.
Globally, we have passed 3 million dead.
145 million infected.
In the US we have 32 million infected.
Over 1/2 million dead.
Feeling somewhat relieved though...
We seem to have survived The Plague of the 21st Century.
