A Year since the World Ended
Yesterday, in 2020, was the last NORMAL day most of us had.
We didn't know on March 12th how good we had it...it was a day before lock-downs...masks...toilet paper, Clorox wipes and meat shortages...a day still filled with hugs...before social distancing...Instacart...Grub Hub...wiping down groceries and alcohol gel until your hands crack.
A day before
The Plague.
Ironically, if 3-12-2020 was the Beginning...3-12-2021 is looking a great deal like the Beginning of The End.
Many of us now vaccinated...a slow return to our lives that stopped one year ago.
Oh, it is far from over...but we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.
(...a little wary, myself, with all the variants out there...dear god..don't let it be a train...)
Still...the numbers are rapidly going down...
Worldwide:
Total Cases- 119,839,179
From an all time high of over 600,000 new cases per day down to 241,259 right now.
Deaths:
Total- 2,6555,016
Yesterday- 9,450
My Country USA
Total Cases- 29,993,423
All time high per day 400,000 new infections...yesterday only 66,925.
Total Deaths- 545,544
All time high of more than 4,000 per day...yesterday 1,505.
Those of us who have already been vaccinated are beginning to slowly creep out into small already vaccinated groups.Making plans for vacations...getaways...a sit down meal out...or just cards with friends.
Spoke yesterday with my grandchildren, who I miss terribly.
"A soon as I am completely vaccinated...we will all get together...that's The Plan."
What a crazy year it has been...
