Valentine's Day promises to be a little...uh...different this year.
11 months into the pandemic...people are STILL grousing about their rights and refusing to mask up...and a new wrinkle as the vaccine roll-out has begun...and right behind it (and in some instances blocking the way) The Anti-Vaxxers.
Christ Wept.
People...I really have ceased to GAF if you anti-vaxxers take the jab or not...but you do not have the right to block anyone else from taking it...and if you try...you should be arrested immediately.
At the Dodger's Stadium where they have started mass injections...anti-vaxxers showed up and blocked access for three hours.
Complete Insanity.
We have went from 300,000 new cases a day and 4000 new deaths per day to
a gradual but notable decline.

and a little over 100,000 new cases every day.
My State- Indiana

9,974 deaths
and about 1800 new cases each day.
My County- Putnam
3,054 cases
with
54 deaths
and around 12 new cases per day.
The vaccine roll-out began very clunky...not enough vaccines...in some areas only one area to receive them. Our new President has ordered several hundred of millions more doses and is implementing mass vaccination spots.
There are now 3 vaccines.
Pfizer
Moderna
Johnson and Johnson.
Pfizer is two jabs and a booster for the 4 variants...mutations...now found.
Moderna is a two part vaccine.
Johnson and Johnson is one and done.
All have benefits and drawbacks...but just having them means there is hope of a return to normalcy on the horizon.
Not this week...or the next...or even months from now....but maybe by the end of the year.

During the very worst of the Second Wave it was numbing...the numbers...the deaths...rows of refrigerated trailers to make make-shift morgues for the dead.
It was impossible to wrap your head around.
The mutations came...the UK...Africa...Denmark...California.
The UK Variant was 70% more infective and 30% more lethal.
All of them are in The States now.
We are vaccinating the front-line workers first...and the 80+ year olds.
The second group will be 80-65 and those with pre-existing conditions...so I will qualify at that time.
Until then I will religiously mask up...they are even suggesting double masking.
I will wash my hands and gel.
I will limit my contact time.
And I will NOT touch my face...
My youngest son got it from his EMT wife, who had a fairly mild case. His was moderate...at one point coughing up blood. He appears to have fully recovered, thankfully.
