September and the Second Wave

 But we haven't even finished the FIRST Wave yet!!!

 

That's right. Here in The States we are still averaging 40,000 new infections a day and 1,000 deaths.

The rest of the world...having slowed down and managed the Covid crisis..is now seeing the rising numbers of a second wave.

Or to paraphrase Dr. Fauci...we are so SCREWED.

The Second Wave is poised to be much worse.

Currently worldwide we have nearly 33 MILLLON infected and are 10,000 away from 1 million dead.

One Million.

DEAD.

The numbers are so large now that people are starting to get numb to them.

They want it over.

Want to get on with their lives.

And so...they try to...

Huge Mistake.

Sadly, we look back and learn nothing from the Spanish Flu of 1918.

When people just wanted it over, too.

Just wanted to get back to normal.

Wanted to celebrate the end of the war with a parade. 

 

Most of the deaths  (nearly 50 million) occurred in the last 3 months of the flu.

The Second Wave.

As history will attest to most of the deaths in the 2nd Wave were between Sept-November. 

A smaller Third Wave was also seen in December. 

Now more than ever we have to be vigilant.

Wear masks.

Wash our hands.

Socially distance.

Just when we are so burned out from staying in.

Quarantine.

And it doesn't help that our ersatz President is encouraging people to not wear masks or socially distance.

That Florida's governor just re-opened all restaurants and bars to full capacity.

Jesus Wept.

So...if we stay vigilant about it..we might survive this.

Many many won't.

It's like an intelligence test.

With masks.
