June 2020...and Where it all went WRONG
Face it...
Here we are...almost the middle of the year...and it has mostly been one huge disorienting blur.
The only consolation is that EVERYONE is experiencing this currently.
We are all in the together.
The states who jumped the gun on re-opening are now seeing the fruits of their blunder with a horrible jump in new Covid cases.
Worldwide we are now adding 100,000 new case every day.
Of those, 20,000 per diem are in the US.
And still the so-over-this-crowd refuses to believe that wishing it over does not make it so.
WHO expects a second wave in September...worse than the first...but to be fair...we haven't even got through the first one yet.
And some of the damage this does to your lungs...
No...this is the removed lung of a twenty year old COVID-19 patient...non-smoker by-the-way.
This is some brutal shit.
So laugh all you want at me social distancing and hiding behind my blue mask.
Call me a sheep if you want.
At least I'll be a sheep that can BREATHE.

The CDC projects over 200,000 deaths here by September 1st.

So, here goes.
I am not blaming Trump for The Pandemic.
Or Covid-19.
What I am blaming him for is EVERYTHING that occurred since his briefing on the viral outbreak in China in December 2019.
At the end of December the Wuhan virus was detected in China...by January it was an epidemic in the Hubei/Wuhan area...and by February 2nd it was beginning its global spread.
(...on February 2nd I started tracking...although we had only 8 cases in the US...and no deaths...yet...given the quick spread to the neighboring countries...it was only a matter of time...we are all only a plane ride away from one another these days...)

By late February it was apparent this was shaping up to be our next pandemic...and yet no plans were in place.
No nationwide response.
No widespread PPE or testing in place.
Worse yet Trump and his Administration were downplaying it as
A Democratic Hoax.

It will Disappear...only 15 cases...down to ZERO,
Except...it wasn't, of course.
By the end of February I had stockpiled enough frozen, canned and nonperishable groceries and dry goods to see me through a couple of months...because I didn't get old by being stupid or unprepared.
I called the boys, some of my closest friends and John and voiced my concerns...that they might want to stock up as well.
That this looks like it may be the Real Deal.
In March we started to see our cases go up...and by April they had exploded and the WHO and CDC had deemed this a Pandemic.
Shelves were emptied. Food was in low quantities. Toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizers and sheets...non-existent.
Everything closed.
Today is June 21st, 2020
Over 9 million people are infected worldwide.
Nearly a half a million are dead.
Here in the US we have over 2 million infected and over 100,000 dead.
