Why is Bill Murry in the Hall...

April 6, 2020

It isn't Murray's "Groundhog Day", but it might as well be.

After weeks and weeks in self-isolation Saturdays blend into Mondays and then Wednesdays...seamlessly...endlessly...

Parcels of blue masks and powder blue gloves have arrived...but are still in their packaging.

It would be nice to go out color coordinated...except there will be no going out here.

Stepped on the scale yesterday to find I have gained 5 pounds from the stress-eating.

What is the first thing to go during the pandemic?

Apparently, the waistline.

Making a soup and veggie plate for dinner.

And a note to stock up on fresh fruit and veggies for Insta-Cart on Wednesday.

Slowly working into some sort of a routine here. It feels odd and a little clunky/contrived right now...but will eventually be the New Normal, while we need it.

Sleeping later...with the day usually starting at 9 AM and coffee and chat with
John (online) as he is on the outskirts of Indianapolis, and I am way over here in Greencastle.

It is difficult being apart...

The only thing more difficult, I suppose, would be being quarantined together.

My middle grand-daughter said it best yesterday on the phone when asked about her siblings and Mom and Dad

"Grandma...these people are sooooooooooooooooooo annoying."

Yeah...I understand, honey...sometimes the cat is even getting on my nerves.

Seriously, I don't know how they are doing it with the six of them...and the dogs...and cats and such.

I'm afraid they would find me out back it the shed.

Surrounded by barbed wire...and maybe a moat.

The news shows several prominent out-spoken naysayers who spent weeks telling others it was a media hoax or hysteria...now dead of the virus.

It is only the tip of the iceberg.

Last night's latest numbers.

And right now...

It is terrifying.

We have now broken 10,000 deaths in the states.

Over 70,000 worldwide.

The White House Briefings are a bad joke...the only expert at this point Epidemiologist Anthony Fauci...and they are constantly contradicting him and talking over him...or shutting him up altogether.

Governor Andrew Cuomo of NY seems to be emerging as the voice of reason through all of this...and doing a great job for his state despite the laxness of our government.

Taking the matter into his own hands.

Keeping us calm and a bit saner through this trying time.

They say the next two to three weeks will be the worst.

(...of course Trump also predicted we would go from 15 to Zero cases...when this first arrived in the US...)

Where did it all go wrong?

Well...that is a missive for another day...
